Resettlement
CRIS provides comprehensive case management and core services to newly arriving refugee families and individuals of varying cultures, languages, and countries of origin. Our case management team, many of whom are former refugees themselves, provides strengths-based case management as refugees work towards securing basic needs for their families, connecting to social, health, educational, and career services, and learning the necessary skills to support their new life in the United States. We value our partnerships with community groups and individuals who join CRIS in welcoming refugees to Central Ohio.

Eligibility
This service is available for any refugee arriving through the United States Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP). Refugees have fled their homes and countries amidst violence and persecution. Refugee families and individuals served by the CRIS Resettlement Program are assigned to our agency by Church World Service (CWS), one of the 9 national voluntary agencies that contract with the US Department of State. All refugees go through a rigorous screening process including interviews by the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR), Resettlement Support Center (RSC), and US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to determine a well-founded fear of persecution.
