Match Grant Program

Match Grant is a 240-day employment program to help eligible clients overcome barriers and find jobs. Our main goal is to help individuals and families achieve economic self-sufficiency within 180 to 240 days of enrollment. We offer employment services, job readiness and ESL classes, social services, and other referrals based on client needs.

  • Eduardo & Family

Originally from Venezuela, Eduardo (pseudonym) and his family were resettled in Columbus in May of 2023. Two months later, he and his adult son Raul (also a pseudonym), with the help of CRIS’ Match Grant program team, secured full-time jobs with Kimball Midwest. They then opened their first U.S. bank accounts to enroll in direct deposit with their new employer.

  • Diana

Diana worked as a psychologist and aid worker in her home country of Colombia before being forced to flee. With the support of CRIS’ Match Grant Program, Diana has found meaningful work at an elementary school in Columbus. Read more of her inspiring story.

Eligibility

Refugees, SIVs, asylees, parolees, and other ORR-eligible populations may be eligible for the Match Grant program, depending on the client’s employability and program capacity. Asylees and parolees are eligible for enrollment within 90 days of being granted asylum or parole. For eligibility inquiries, contact Match Grant program manager Susan Gregorek (see information below).

Triple Your Impact

The Match Grant program is required to raise $1,000 in “matching” funds per client, either through monetary donations, in-kind donations, or volunteer services. Each dollar of “match” raised secures two dollars of federal funds that are used for direct client assistance. Monetary donations also go directly to client needs such as furniture, personal and household items, work supplies, or rent and utility assistance. Please consider giving to or volunteering with the Match Grant program today, and triple your impact by helping our new neighbors reach self-sufficiency!
