“Who do we welcome?” Info Session

On Monday, December 16th, 2024, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM, CRIS staff members are going to address the question of “Who do we welcome?” in an educational presentation.

During the presentation, we will:

  • Clarify immigration statuses, explaining the distinctions between refugees, asylum seekers, and other immigrant classifications to provide a clearer understanding of their rights and pathways.

  • Debunk misinformation about immigration and its impact, offering evidence-based insights to foster a more informed perspective.

  • Highlight the realities refugees encounter.

  • Showcase our mission, emphasizing CRIS's commitment to supporting displaced individuals through housing, employment, legal aid, health and wellness resources, and more.

Participants will also have the opportunity to hear directly from a refugee speaker sharing their journey to Columbus.

This virtual event aims to promote understanding, empathy, and constructive dialogue. We believe that informed communities are the foundation for meaningful change. If you're curious but unsure, this is the perfect opportunity to take the next step.
