Yemeni Chutney Recipe

This is a Yemeni version of a common recipe used throughout the Middle East.  In Yemeni culture it is referred to as “shitni” and “sahawiq.”  It is used as a side dish or appetizer, often served with bread.  Enjoy!Ingredients:- 2 large red and ripe tomatoes- 1 quarter of a white onion- 3 garlic cloves- 1 half of a green pepper (you can also add a very small piece of chili green pepper if you like it spicy)- around 8 branches of cilantro- salt as desired (1 teaspoon, may be)- white, salted cheese (optional)Directions:Put all of the ingredients in the blender (this is what I like most about this dish; you just throw everything and blend!), but make sure that you don't blend the mixture too much; it is not good to have the final mixture too liquidy. You can use this to dip in bread or sambusa, or to eat it with rice, or whatever main dishes you have.Nahla Al-Huraibi
