CRIS Executive Director Angela Plummer Receives Prestigious Humanitarian Award
Plummer Honored for Contributions to Community
Known by many simply as “Angie,” Angela Plummer’s involvement with CRIS began as a volunteer attorney in 1998. In 2003, she became the Executive Director and has served in this capacity ever since. Throughout her tenure, she has participated in the resettlement of over 10,000 refugees from across the world. One of her areas of focus is on family reunification–in which she is still active today.
We are excited to announce that Angie was recently recognized for her incredible work by her alma mater, The Ohio State University’s Moritz College of Law, as the 2023 recipient of the George V. Voinovich Humanitarian Award. The Moritz College of Law shares that the school “presents annual alumni awards in the areas of distinguished alumni, outstanding recent alumni, judicial excellence, community service, and public service. Nominations are accepted from fellow alumni and the legal community…The George V. Voinovich Humanitarian Award is presented to alumni who, like Senator Voinovich, have devoted significant time and energy to causes and projects that benefit the greater community and the welfare of humanity.”
Of this recognition, Angie says, “It’s really a celebration of our team’s humanitarian work.”
Join us in congratulating her on this well-deserved award!
